About Sandpiper
Sandpiper is a Leopard 51 Powercat with four comfortable double cabins, four private en-suite heads and several upgrades that make her particularly well equipped for extended cruising in the BVI.
The Leopard 51 has long been one of the most popular bareboat powercat designs in the BVI, combining a spacious flybridge, excellent outdoor living areas and a practical four-cabin layout. Sandpiper adds several thoughtful upgrades, including faux teak decking, a watermaker, icemaker and conventional refrigerator/freezer.
Four Private Cabins with Four En-Suite Heads
Sandpiper’s four double cabins each have their own private en-suite head, making her an excellent option for four couples traveling together.
Families also benefit from having four separate private cabins. An additional forepeak berth can accommodate one child, allowing Sandpiper to sleep a maximum of nine guests when the group includes a child who is comfortable in the smaller forepeak accommodation.
Unlike some Leopard 51 configurations, Sandpiper’s salon does not convert into an additional sleeping area.
Additional Equipment & Upgrades
One of the things we particularly like about Sandpiper is the additional equipment that has been added aboard.
Sandpiper is equipped with both a watermaker and icemaker, two useful amenities for a week of island hopping in the BVI. Faux teak decking throughout the exterior adds another customized touch and gives the yacht a more finished appearance.
These upgrades complement the proven Leopard 51 layout and make Sandpiper particularly well equipped for a comfortable week aboard.
Flybridge & Outdoor Living
The large flybridge is one of the defining features of the Leopard 51 and provides a major social space aboard Sandpiper.
There is plenty of room for guests to gather while cruising between islands or relax together once the yacht is on a mooring. The yacht also offers multiple exterior areas, allowing a full group to spread out or gather together throughout the day.
The Leopard’s outdoor-oriented design is one of the reasons the 51 has remained such a popular powercat for BVI bareboat charters.

This yacht is fitted with a water maker. Please note, water makers are very sensitive systems and they must be used in accordance with the instruction provided during your boat briefing. Watermakers cannot be run in shallow water, in marinas, underway or in Anegada. A watermaker is not considered 'essential equipment' and if it is not working at the time of your charter or fails during your charter, we can suggest multiple locations where you can purchase water during your charter and we will cover the cost.
