Tropically Impaired is an Aventura 56MY designed for groups who want exceptional outdoor living space without sacrificing the privacy of five double cabins. At 56 feet, she is one of the largest bareboat powercats in the Virgin Charter Yachts fleet and accommodates up to 10 guests in five double cabins, each with its own en-suite head.

Exceptional Outdoor Living

What really distinguishes the Aventura 56 from the Aventura 50 is the additional outdoor space. The interior layouts are very similar, but the additional length of the 56 is concentrated in the aft deck, creating a significantly larger area for relaxing, dining and enjoying the water.

Tropically Impaired has the redesigned Aventura 56 beach club along with a large aft storage garage and an additional aft sunbed. The full-beam hydraulic swim platform creates an easy connection to the water and provides a convenient area for swimming and boarding the dinghy.

The main aft deck features a large dining table with wraparound seating, making it easy for all 10 guests to dine together outside. From the aft deck, the yacht flows directly through the salon and out to the forward deck, giving guests several separate outdoor spaces to enjoy throughout the day.

Spacious Salon & Galley

Inside, the open-concept salon provides comfortable seating and dining space for the entire group. Large windows bring in plenty of natural light and provide excellent views while underway or on a mooring.

The galley is particularly well suited to larger charter groups, with a full-size side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, cooktop and convection microwave/oven. Having a residential-style refrigerator and generous food-storage space is a significant advantage when provisioning for 10 guests for a week in the BVI.

Five Double Cabins with Five En-Suite Heads

Tropically Impaired’s five-cabin layout is one of the reasons we particularly like her for larger groups and couples traveling together.

The primary cabin is located aft on the port side and features a walk-around queen bed. Four additional double cabins provide private sleeping accommodations for the rest of the group, with each cabin having its own en-suite head.

For five couples, this means everyone has a private double cabin and bathroom without relying on a convertible salon for additional sleeping capacity. The layout works equally well for larger and multigenerational families who want plenty of privacy.

Expansive Flybridge

The flybridge is another standout feature of the Aventura 56. There is ample seating around the helm, allowing guests to spend time together while cruising between islands, as well as multiple areas for lounging and sunbathing.

A wet bar, icemaker and grill make the flybridge a true entertaining area rather than simply a helm station. Combined with the aft deck, beach club and forward seating areas, Tropically Impaired gives a group numerous places to spread out while still having plenty of space for everyone to gather together.

Power & Handling

Tropically Impaired is powered by twin Yanmar 550 HP engines and is equipped with a bow thruster. The elevated flybridge helm provides excellent visibility while cruising and maneuvering.

An on-water checkout is included on the first day of every Virgin Charter Yachts bareboat charter to make sure guests are comfortable operating the yacht before beginning their week in the BVI.

Why We Recommend Tropically Impaired

For groups comparing our Aventura 50 and Aventura 56 powercats, the biggest reason to move up to the 56 is outdoor space. The interior layouts are quite similar; the extra length is concentrated aft, giving the 56 a substantially larger deck and beach-club area.

Tropically Impaired goes a step further with her large storage garage and additional aft sunbed, features that distinguish her from Don’t Blink, our other Aventura 56.

For five couples, larger families or groups of up to 10 guests who expect to spend most of their BVI vacation outdoors, Tropically Impaired is one of our favorite bareboat choices.
